John Gilbert

John Gilbert is a seasoned executive with decades of experience in communications, brand strategy, and marketing. His career encompasses a leadership role in one of the Midwest’s largest B2B marketing agencies, as well as serving as the founder and CEO of a digital service business that was acquired after eight years. He has also held several senior positions in marketing and communications within large multinational companies.
Having retired in January 2025, John is now focusing his efforts on empowering individuals living with mental illness. He joined the Board of Directors in February 2025 to help cultivate a supportive environment where members can develop meaningful relationships, acquire life skills, and achieve independence. He will actively contribute to advocacy, governance, and community outreach initiatives, ensuring that the Clubhouse model remains a vital resource for those in need. His expertise will be instrumental in guiding strategic initiatives that enhance the organisation's impact.
John is married and has one son. He holds a degree from Michigan State University, and in his spare time, he enjoys planning his next domestic and international travel adventures, road cycling (particularly on the roads of Europe), continuing his piano practice, and revitalizing his dusty foreign language skills (French and German).
